Over the past 6 months, the Mendocino Art Center has entered a period of regeneration and growth.

We are grateful to members of our community, old and new, who have supported us in this new chapter and contributed to building community with us at the MAC. Below, take a look at what we’ve been up to this year.

Residents’ Fundraiser Auction

We have launched a new ceramics auction to help fund our Artists in Residence to attend the NCECA annual ceramics conference. These items on auction were either donated by community members or by the artists themselves.

Any items purchased at the "Buy it Now" price by December 6th can be shipped to arrive before the holiday season.

Indigenous Women are Sacred

Raising Awareness for Missing, Murdered, Indigenous Women

This exhibit is in response to the pervasive issue of missing and murdered indigenous women across Indian Country, an issue which has previously not received main-stream attention. The intention is to bring awareness to the disproportionately high rates of disappearances and murders of women and girls, and to honor their lives and allow their voices to be heard.

how we shape each other brings together 16 artists, each with their own story to share. None of these stories are carved out with a beginning, middle or end. They are all a continuation of something that came before. We can experience them now, determine how they relate to one another, feel how they compare to our own, but once we do this, when we walk away, our story has already changed, and so has theirs.
